Origins of The Magik Box

The Magik Box (www.themagikbox.com) is a dream in motion. Born in a basement in Scarborough, Ontario in the late summer of 2008, the business concept was based on affordable pricing for everyone in the fast track world of technology.

Like a phoenix from a flame, with no spending cash but plastic, we decided to plunge into the world of retail. Once decided on the products to be sold , we then had to contact distributors. But again , skepticism raised it’s ugly head. Which distributor would have enough faith to deal with a sole proprietor that decided to build a store from ground zero? At the time, every distributor we approached asked us for how much inventory we would carry and what our annual sales targets were..yeah right !! We simply replied 'NONE and had no idea as we just arrived on the scene. Based on tip from a friend, who used to manage an Apple Store in Toronto, we finally found one distributor who agreed to support The Magik Box on its way (They are with us to this day..Love them !!).

We moved to outsource our web-site creation overseas. It was a really slow process but a good web-site was created nonetheless. Family and friends decided to pitch in to populate the site and it went a bit smoother from then on.

Back to the Box, the aim of The Magik Box is to bring the latest and the best in computing software , PC and online gaming, Accessories (iPod, iPad, Blackberry), computer components, etc. We carry all the well known brands like Microsoft, Apple , Belkin, Steelseries, Symantec, iSkin, Logitech...and the list goes on and on.
